About Me
Growing up in Southern California, I spent my childhood exploring meadows, woodlands, and beaches. (Actually, the meadow was a vacant lot behind the liquor store, but it served the same purpose.) After raising two awesome kids and obtaining a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from Oregon State University, I moved to Arizona, where I obtained a master's degree in education from Arizona State University and a reading specialist endorsement from the Arizona Department of Education.
In my professional life, I have worked as an outdoor science instructor in California and as a K-8 teacher in Arizona. I am also a volunteer at the Phoenix Herpetological Society and a Maricopa Master Gardener. I enjoy wildlife, gardening, writing, and learning all about the natural world around me. I have written children's books about insects, Southwest animals, Pacific tide pools, and other topics.
